The eighth dry cargo carrier of Project RSD32M, the Anatoly Nikolayev, has been delivered to the customer, thus completing the series, says Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB), the ship designer.
The ship was ordered by State Transport Leasing Company PJSC with Navis-1 as a leaseholder. The series numbers eight multifunctional dry cargo ships of this design.
According to MEB classification, RSD32M vessels refer to the "Azov 5000" type ships with their main task of transporting conventional batches of grain (5,000 tonnes) from Azov and Caspian ports given the draught of 4.20 meters typical for these regions.
RSD32M vessels are intended to replace obsolete and worn out vessels of Sormovsky and Volgo-Balt types, which are intensely involved in this segment.
RSD32M vessels can be operated for transportations of general and bulk cargo including grain, packaged and round timber, scrap metal, bunches and rolls of metal, large-sized and heavy-lift cargoes, coal, dangerous goods of 1 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 classes of IMDG Code and cargoes of category B of IMSBC Code. Sailing regions are internal waterways of European part of RF; Azov, Caspian, Black, Mediterranean Baltic, White, North Seas, including voyages around Europe and to Irish Sea in winter.
Being shorter than Volgo-Don Max ships, RSD32M vessels are cheaper to build and operate.
