Acceptance/delivery certificate signed for second passenger-carrying hydrofoil of Kometa 120М design
Construction of high-speed passenger-carrying hydrofoil of project 23160, Kometa 120М has been completed. The ship built by Vympel JSC has been delivered to the customer, Mashpromleasing (a captive company of USC) for further leasing out to OOO Marine High-Speed Passenger Shipping Company. The ship will be named Yalta.
As Aleksandr Babich, General Director of Mashpromleasing, told IAA PortNews, he has signed the acceptance/delivery certificate today, 29 November 2019. The document has been also signed by Aleksey Sorokin, General Director of Marine High-Speed Passenger Shipping Company, and Oleg Goncharov, Managing Director of Vympel shipyard.
According to Aleksandr Babich, the third ship of Kometa 120М design will be delivered to the customer by the beginning of summer navigation season of 2020.
The ship has been built under the programme of USC for leasing of sea and river going ships. The contract for construction of three Kometa 120М ships was signed by Vympel and Mashpromleasing in 2017. The first ship in the series put into operation in July 2018 is being successfully deployed on the Sevastopol-Yalta-Sevastopol route.
OOO Marine High-Speed Passenger Shipping Company was established in October 2017 for arranging high-speed passenger transportation involving Kometa hydrofoils in the Black Sea.
The ship’s key particulars: LOA – 35.2 m; BOA – 10.3 m; floating draught – 3.5 m; passenger capacity – 120; crew – 5.
