Coal handling surged 2.7 times
In January-July 2021, port Kavkaz handled 16,038 million tonnes of cargo (-12%, year-on-year). As IAA PortNews’ regional correspondent was informed by the Kavkaz Harbour Master’s Office, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility fell by 8%, year-on-year, to 7.156 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz rose by 25% to 1.237 million tonnes, imports – by 8% to 34,000 tonnes, while short-sea traffic fell by 18% to 7.537 million tonnes.
Handling of grain remained flat at 7.952 million tonnes. Coal handling surged 2.7 times. Handling of oil products fell by 13%, year-on-year, to 5.098 million tonnes, sulphur – by 44% to 1.434 million tonnes.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz fell by 48% to 74,800 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz decreased by 29%, year-on-year, to 2,595 calls excluding the calls of car ferries.
