Container turnover of Petrolesport OJSC to grow by almost 70% in 2006 to 310 thou TEU – Alexander Kolosnitsin, head of the Company

Container turnover of Petrolesport OJSC (Saint Petersburg port) to grow by 68% in 206 to 310 000  TEU. According to the correspondent of PortNews IAA, it has been announced today by Alexander Kolosnitsin, Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors at the ceremony of opening of a new ro-ro line at the port. According to him, the company’s total cargo turnover to reach 7.8 million tons in 2006 (+25.9% against year-on-year result). It is possible to overcome container turnover of the First Container Terminal, but it is still difficult, Kolosnitsin said, - though Petrolesport is to overcome FCT in terms of cargo transshipment in 2007. We are going to be the first, Kolosnitsin said. According to him, the company plans to raise cargo transshipment to 8 million tons in 2007 and container turnover  - to 400 thou TEU.

Petrolesport OJSC is a stevedoring company of Saint Petersburg port. The company is a part of Orimi concern. Petrolesport carries out cargo transshipment at 11 berths of Lesnoi port (No 42-64 and 46). Authorized capital of the company amounts to 47 million 547 thou 000 rubles. It is divided into 4 million 754 thou 720 shares with a nominal value of 10 rubles each. In 2005 the company’s cargo turnover amounted to 6192.6 thou tons, including container turnover of 196 522 TEU.
