Admiral Gorshkov conducts air defence exercise in Norwegian Sea
The ship built by Severnaya Verf shipyard joined RF Navy in 2018
The crew of the frigate Admiral Gorshkov has practised to repel mock enemy's airpower strikes in the Norwegian Sea amid difficult hydrometeorological environment, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The exercise involved tactical situation modelling facilities to simulate the neutralisation of air targets by on-board air defence weaponry and firepower.
The crew of air defence command post has practised to manoeuvre the ship. The personnel of detection posts, electronic and anti-aircraft crews have practised to transmit and receive target assignment data, and conditional employment of the on-board self-defence weapons.
The scale in the Norwegian Sea was 3-4, the wind speed reached 20 metres per second during the exercise.
The navigation of the detachment, formed by the frigate Admiral Gorshkov and medium-class sea tanker Kama, is guided by the North Fleet's missile ship division commander Captain 1st Rank Oleg Gladkiy.
