Brostrom takes delivery of two newbuilds

SWEDISH tanker company Broström has taken delivery of two newbuilding and increased its stake in a Furetank product tanker.

The third 14,500 dwt D-class tanker Bro Distributor is on its maiden voyage to Europe where it will be employed in the distribution of refined oil products in European trade. The fourth and last D-class vessel is expected to be delivered in December this year.

Broström has also taken delivery of the 47,000 dwt product tanker vessel Gan Venture which operates commercially for Turkish company Dünya Shipping eight ships on order at Korean shipyards. Dünya’s ships are primarily intended to trade in Southeast Asia and remaining seven vessels will be delivered over the coming 15 months, doubling Broström’s capacity in the South East Asia.

When Broström bought Danish company Nordtank Shipping last year, it also acquired 9% in three of the Swedish shipowner Furetank’s vessels. Broström has now bought another 21% of the 2004-built, 16,000 dwt, Fure Nord. All of Furetank’s product tanker vessels are commercially operated by Broström.
