DP World hits 100 mln TEU capacity milestone

DP World has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 100 million TEUs of container handling capacity across its global portfolio, according to the company's release.

This achievement reflects over $11 billion in strategic investments in port infrastructure over the past decade. The company's capacity has grown by 33% in the last 10 years, driven by expansions, new developments, and acquisitions.

This expansion cements DP World's 9.2% share of the global container market, providing increased capacity to its customers and partners.

Key investments contributing to this growth include the expansion of London Gateway, the Port of Callao in Peru, and the ICTT in Cochin, India.

DP World has also expanded its portfolio through acquisitions, including the Belawan New Container Terminal in Indonesia, a merger in Türkiye, and the acquisition of the Dar es Salaam Port in Tanzania.

These strategic investments have positioned DP World to capitalize on the growing global container market, which is expected to grow by 2.8% this year.
