Kongsberg to integrate Kongsberg Digital's business into Kongsberg Maritime

KONGSBERG is streamlining its operations by transferring its maritime-focused business from Kongsberg Digital to Kongsberg Maritime, effective Q1 2025, according to the company's release.

This move aims to optimize its approach to the evolving maritime industry, characterized by a strong push towards decarbonization and digitalization.

The transferred business, which generated approximately NOK 600 million in revenue in 2023, employs around 500 people across 14 countries.

These employees will transition to Kongsberg Maritime upon completion of the transaction. Kongsberg Digital will utilize the proceeds from this transfer to further focus on its core strengths, including digital twin technology, energy simulations, SiteCom, and its subsidiary FutureOn.

Thomas Borgen, Chairman of Kongsberg Digital, stated that this strategic move, supported by the Kongsberg Digital Board of Directors, will enable both Kongsberg Maritime and Kongsberg Digital to better serve the market with a more focused approach.
