Transbunker Group of Companies to invest $100 million into a new bunkering complex in Taman

Transbunker Group of Companies (Moscow) intends to invest about $100 million into a new project for construction of a bunkering complex in Taman port (Sea of Azov, Krasnodar Territory), Grigorij Gaidukov, Vice-President of Transbunker GC reported to PortNews IAA. According to Gaidukov, the complex is to include mini-refinery for production of bunkering fuel (annual capacity of 1 million tons) and a sea terminal able to transship 1.5 million tons of oil products annually.  The construction is to take 2.5-3 years. Transbunker GC plans to start construction within 1-1.5 years. According to Transbunker's estimations, the capacity of the future terminal will make about 30% of the demand for bunkering fuel within water areas of the Black and Azov Seas. Besides oil products transshipment in Taman, GC intends to supply bunkering fuel to the ports of Ukraine. According to Gaidukov, investment agreement on construction of a bunkering complex was signed between Transbunker GC and Krasnodar Territory Administration. Having coordinated the declaration of intensions GC is to start development of design estimate documentation.

Transbunker Group is the largest player at Russia’s bunkering market. The Group consists of over 30 companies operating under the same trade mark both in Russia and Europe. Among them there 5 oil plants and refineries in Vanino. In 2005 Transbunker's sales of marine fuel amounted to about 2 800 thou tons.  The group was incorporated in 1991 in Khabarovsk region. Its incorporators are private persons. Transbunker's headquarters is in Moscow.
