Cargo turnover of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company decreased in the third quarter 2006 by 16% to 204 674 TEU
Cargo turnover of Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company decreased in the third quarter 2006 by 16% (244 598 TEU) to 204 674 TEU. The company carries out container transshipment at Vostochnyj port. According to the company’s press service, VSC’s September result amounted to 25 312 TEU against 26 512 TEU in September 2005 (- 5%). In January-September 2006 transshipment of transit containers decreased from 79 018 TEU in 2005 to 8 771 TEU (- 89%). In September 2006 transit volume amounted to 455 TEU against 7 905 TEU in September 2005 (- 94%). Volume of export containers handled by VSC LLC through 9 months of 2006 grew by 27% against year-on-year result – from 58 360 TEU to 74 309 TEU. In September 2006 transshipment of export containers amounted to 9 546 TEU against 7 138 TEU in September 2005 (34%). Volume of import containers grew by 16% – from 95 702 TEU in January-September 2005 to 111 075 TEU in January-September 2006. September volume of import containers grew by 35 % – 13 849 TEU against 10 256 TEU in September 2005. Results of the reported period of 2006 are compared with similar period of 2005 when containers were handled at the territory of Vostochnyj port by Vostochnyj International Container Service CJSC and Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC.
Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC specializes on transshipment of container cargo. It was founded in 2004. The company provides a complete rage of stevedoring and warehousing services, including storage of refrigerator containers, container repair and security. Vostochnyj International Container Service CJSC was founded in 1995, before 2006 it specialized on stevedoring services. Owing to changes introduced into organization of the activities carried out by stevedoring companies at the container terminal of Vostochnyj port, VICS’s major task from February 2006 is the development of VSC’s customer base. VICS CJSC and VSC LLC are under shared management of P&O Ports and Severstaltrans groups.
