New ro-ro line opens in the port of Gdansk

On April 13, 2007, the Turandot vessel owned by Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics AB, one of the largest ship owners in Europe, entered the port of Gdansk (Poland), thus opening the new ro-ro shipping line linking Japanese ports with the port of Gdansk, RZD-Partner reports. New line will ensure one call per month. The vessel with the length of 199.11 meters, width of 32.29 meters may carry 5.849 passenger cars. It delivered 1007 Toyota cars from Japan to Gdansk. According to the port’s administration, on May 25 the Tytus vessel will deliver 1182 passenger cars to the port of Gdansk. Services on cargo handling and storage are carried out by Port of Gdansk Cargo Logistics Ltd.
