From May 1, 2007, Russian Railways OJSC rescheduled cargo delivery to the ports of Baltic states according to repair works schedule, PortNews IAA learnt from PR department of Oktyabrskaya Railway, RZD branch. “These are not sudden changes but a preliminary approved schedule known to all shippers in advance,” representative of PR department noted. He also underlined that such changes do not influence the volume of transportation within any direction but change the schedule and the route of railway transportation. According to PR department of Oktyabrskaya Railway, there are no violations of preliminary approved schedules for transportation of cargo to Estonia or other Baltic states.
Yesterday, Mikhail Goncharov, press-secretary of RZD President, told Interfax there are certain preliminary approved “gaps” in the schedule of cargo delivery to Estonia. According to Goncharov, the orders for transit are to be accepted, however he did not say when RZD resumes normal delivery of oil.
