Cargo turnover of Yuzhny port (Ukraine) amounted in January-September 2006 to 15482.8 thou tons - 102% against planned 15183 thou tons, or 103.1% against year-on-year result, the port’s press service reported. The port handled 10406.6 thou tons - 101.5% against planned 10248 thou tons or 101.8% against year-on-year result.
Yuzhny Port is the largest and deepest transshipment port complex of Ukraine intended for handling of vessels of 100 000 dwt tons. Yuzhny specializes in transshipment of liquid chemicals, grain, coal, containers. The port has berths for shipment of export bulk and general cargo. Major directions are Black and Mediterranean Sea Basins, Middle East, South-East Asia, USA and Latin America.
