In January-April 2007 throughput of the port of Arkhangelsk totaled 1,454.27 thou tons (+1.3%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from Administration of Arkhangelsk Seaport. Over the reported period, stevedoring companies of the port received 139.098 thou tons of cargo (+44.1%, year-on-year) including 85.258 thou tons of import cargo (+54.2%) and 53.839 thou tons of coastal trade cargo (+30.6%). Import comprised 15.460 thou tons of containerized cargo (-28%), 0.298 thou tons of machines and equipment (-45.2%), 69.498 thou tons of general cargo (2.9-fold growth, year-on-year). Incoming coastal trade cargo included 51.290 thou tons of general cargo (+42.8 %). Container turnover totaled 2.545 thou tons (-52.2%). In the 4-month period shipment from the port of Arkhangelsk amounted to 1315.169 thou tons (- 4.5%) including 329.516 thou tons of export cargo (-16%) and 985.652 thou tons of coastal trade cargo (+0.1%). Export included 19.891 thou tons of containerized cargo (+29.1%), 167.55 thou tons of timber (-6.5%), 40.932 thou tons of metal scrap (-38.6%), 22.967 thou tons of cellulose (-44.8%), 6.760 thou tons of cardboard and paper (-45.8%). Export of other general cargo totaled 0.155 thou tons (4.9-fold decrease against January-April 2006). Outgoing coastal trade cargo included 839.981 thou tons of oil and oil products (-5.7%), 5.461 thou tons of machines and equipment (+74.5%), 38.113 thou tons of metal (+5.6%) and 51.066 thou tons of other general cargo (5-fold growth against January-April 2006). Container turnover made 51.031 thou tons (+14.2%, year-on-year).
