Cargo turnover of Kandalaksha Sea Trade Port up 16.7% in January-September
Cargo turnover of Kandalaksha Sea Trade Port fell in January-September by 16.7% year-on-year to 254.890 thou tons, the company reported to PortNews IAA. Through nine months the port handled 175.997 thou tons of export cargo (-5% against year-on-year result). Transshipment of export coal decreased by 77.8% to 54.819 thou tons. Transshipment of coke breeze amounted to 49.4 thou tons (-9%). Turnover of metal scrap grew amounted to 13.846 thou tons (2.5-times growth). Through the reported period the port handled 46.183 thou tons of coastwise cargo (-48.5%). The structure of coastwise cargo was the following: crushed stone – 23.814 thou tons (no crushed stone was transshipped in January-September 2005), pipes – 22.369 thou tons (no pipe were transshipped in January-September 2005). Local cargo amounted to 32.709 thou tons (-21.4% against year-on-year result).
