Export-import transportation of Vanino Sea Trade Port down 22% in January-September

Export-import coastwise transportation of Vanino Sea Trade Port (Khabarivsk Territory) decreased in January-September 2006 by 22.4% against year-on-year result to 266.5 thou tons, the company reports according to IA REGNUM. The figure includes 167.9 thou tons of cargo transported in containers. Coastwise transportation of September decreased by a factor of 2.3 against year-on-year result to 35.6 thou tons. Cargo transportation via Vanino-Kholmsk decreased through 9 months by 4.2% to 1 360.9 thou tons. Transportation of import cargo increased in January-September by 36.5% (to 547.1 thou tons), including alumina – by 49.9% (to 528.2 thou tons), machines – by 44.4% (to 9.7 thou tons). Transportation of export cargo increased through 9 months 2006 by 2.5% to 61.4 thou tons. From the year beginning the stevedoring company of the port handled 1 326 vessels including 591 ferries as well as 52.8 thou wagons (+2.2% against year-on-year result). The port’s cargo turnover decreased by 8.5% in September against year-on-year result to 530.4 thou tons.

Vanino Sea Trade Port is the largest stevedoring company at Khabarivsk Territory. It provides handling and forwarding services. Cargo is delivered via Vanino to the north-eastern regions of Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of APR.
