The Board of Directors of Baltijsky Zavod OJSC appointed Iliya Alexandrov acting Director General of the company, RPC reports. Powers of Valery Levchenko were terminated by the resolution of the Board of Directors.
The Baltiysky Zavod shipyard specializes in construction of naval ships, vessels with nuclear-powered propulsion, large tankers for oil transportation from northern seas, chemical tankers, icebreakers, vessels for carrying general cargo and hi-tech supply vessels. Today’s backlog of orders by 2009 is over $600 million, of which about $30 million fall on naval contracts. In August 2005 IST group sold 88.2% of the company’s stock to Joint Industrial Corporation.
