Rizhao Port plans to invest RMB1.08 billion (US$139.73 million) to build a total of five new berths west of the Shijiu port area.
Two of the berths will have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes, and the other three will have individual handling capacity of 35,000 tonnes.
The berths are expected to have a total quay length of 1,130 metres and bring six million tonnes of additional cargo handling capacity to the port of Rizhao.
