West-Siberian Railway accepted 1.56 million tons of cargo in 9M06 for container transportation

Within 9 months of 2006 West-Siberian Railway accepted 1.56 million tons of cargo for container transportation (+8% against year-on-year result), WSRW’s PR service reports. The figure includes 858 thou tons of cargo to be transported in high-capacity containers (+12% compared to the same period of 2005).  West-Siberian subdivision of TransContainer has summarized its results of January-September 2006. Over the reported period West-Siberian Railway handled about 105 thou containers, including 46 thou of large containers (+9.6% against year-on-year result). West-Siberian subdivision was formed in November 2003. It includes Altai territory, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk and Tomsk regions as well as Altai republic.
