Bergen Tankers orders bunker tankers

Bunkers distributor and small tanker operator Bergen Tankers has ordered two 850 DWT bunker tankers at Nevskiy Shipbuilding in St. Petersburg at NOK 30 million each for delivery in the summer of next year, with an option for another two vessels. The new vessels will be named Bergen Barge to distribute bunkers in Western Norway and Oslo Barge for operation in the Oslo Fjord area. Earlier this year Bergen Tankers acquired Arnulf L’Orsa in Oslo, which has been engaged in bunker distribution in this area in the past 44 years. Bergen Tankers is based at Sotra north of Bergen and currently has four vessels, two small, more than 30 years old bunker tankers and two modern, double hull and twin engine tankers on long term charter to Statoil.
