Port terminals of Azov-Black Sea basin can annually ship about 40 mln tonnes of grain

Port terminals of Azov-Black Sea basin, including Danube ports of Ukraine and Volga-Don ports of Russia, can keep more than 2.5 mln tonnes of grain and annually ship about 40 mln tonnes grain cargoes, informed Eduard Fogel within his reporting during the international conference "Grain Forum-2007" in Odessa.
Today there are 16 ports of State regulation in Ukraine and 7 private ones transshipping grain. In general state and private terminals can keep more than 1.6 mln tonnes of grain and ship 26 mln tonnes per year.
The largest sea grain terminal in the south of Russia is "Novorossiysk complex of bread products" which shipped 2 mln tonnes of grain last year.
According to Ministry of Agriculture of Russia potential volume of grain export in the south of Russia can total about 12 mln tonnes.
According to the estimations of the traders, exporters need total capacity of Azov-Black Sea terminals at 8 mln tonnes of grains annually.
