Keel-laying of a tanker for Pietro Barbaro S.A. at Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard

Keel-laying of the third tanker for Italian shipping company Pietro Barbaro S.A. took place at Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard – member of MNP group, MNP’s release reads. The contract for construction of the third tanker was signed in July 2006. The contract for construction of the first two tankers was signed in August 2005. Both vessels – the Electra and Klimena tankers- were delivered to the customer in June 2006. The tanker ordered is able to carry up to five different types of cargo simultaneously, including crude oil, oil products, diesel fuel, heavy fuel oil. It is a modern double-screw carrier with 12 cargo tanks and one slop-tank, equipped with double hull and double bottom preventing accidental spill of oil products. The vessel’s class is КМ IIСП ЛУI А3 at the Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping. The vessel’s deadweight is about 5000 tons, length - 140 m, breadth – 16.9 m, depth – 6 m, draft – 3.5 m, tonnage – 5.2 thou tons, speed – at least 10 knots, cargo tanks capacity – 6700 cubic meters. Cruising capacity – 12 days, navigation region – inland waterways (river-sea), Nearctic marine regions corresponding to the vessel’s class.
