The auction for the surveying and production of hydrocarbons at five oil production sites in the Tyumen Region was held by the local department for mineral resources and ecology and the Mineral Resources Agency.

Siberian oil and gas company Surgutneftegaz purchased the Shalimovsky site, with a total area of 360.6 square kilometers for 56.4 million rubles ($2 million). The site has hydrocarbon reserves of 14.8 million metric tons and is crossed by a gas pipeline.

Russian-British joint venture TNK-BP bought the Ingairsky site, with a total area of 722 square kilometers for 49.2 million rubles ($1.8 million). The site has oil reserves of 14.6 million metric tons and is crossed by a railway and oil and gas pipelines.

Siberian company Burneftegaz purchased the Demyansky site, with a total area of 437 square kilometers for 68.4 million rubles ($2.5 million). The site has hydrocarbon reserves of 17.7 million metric tons and is crossed by an oil pipeline.

Two other sites were not sold at the auction.
