Swee Joo's managing director, Sim Mong Hong, said he expected the company's cargo shipments this year to reach 109,000 TEU, and 135,000 TEU next year.
"The increase of over 20 per cent will be due to economic growth and the majority of the 135,000 TEU will be from west Malaysia to east Malaysia," he said.
Swee Joo reportedly holds a 35 per cent market share in shipments from peninsula to east Malaysia. The company also provides services to Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.
