In August 2007, Commercial Seaport of Murmansk OJSC handled 1.374.183 million tonnes of different cargo (+7%, year-on-year), the company’s press release reads. In the reported period it handled 19,703 wagons (including 13,822 wagons with coal) and 55 vessels. Transshipment of export cargo amounted to 1.289.995 million tonnes (+4.7%, year-on-year) including 956,800 tonnes of coal, 247,800 tonnes of apatite, 22,000 tonnes of non-ferrous metal. Transshipment of general cargo totaled 77.2 thou tonnes (105.8% against the same period of the previous year), bulk cargo – 1.296.9 million tonnes (+7.1%, year-on-year).
In January-August 2007, the port’s throughput totaled 9.313.871 million tonnes of different cargo. The company handled 137,749 wagons and 355 vessels.
