Cargo turnover of Ventspils port down 1.4% in 9M06

Free port of Ventspils transshipped 21.984 million tons of cargo through 9 months of 2006 (-310 thou tons or -1.4% against year-on-year result), RZD-Partner reports. The ferries carried 42.7 thou passengers over the reported period (+78%), 15 thou of passenger cars (+120%) and 49.6 of cargo units (+294%). Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 13.789 million tons (-0.4%). Transshipment of crude oil, heavy fuel oil and ammonia was up while transshipment of diesel fuel and petrol decreased.
