Cargo turnover of Kаlija parks down 34% in 9M06

Cargo turnover of Kаlija parks – Ventspils port terminal amounted through 9 months of 2006 to 2.5 million tons (-34% against year-on-year result), RZD-partner reports. Mostly potassium salt is handled in the port. Reduction is considered to be the result of changes in trading policy of Byelorussian manufacturers of potassium salt. In 2005 cargo turnover of KP grew by 12% - to 5.1 million tons. According to Lursoft – Latvian database – largest shareholders of КР are GEIT BV of Netherlands (61.12%) Latvian company Mineral-Trans-Serviss OJSC (30.57%) and Swiss company Multi Nord AG (8.24%).
