Global terminal operator Cosco Pacific handled a total of 3.06 million TEU in September at its 16 facilities throughput the world, a 30 per cent rise compared to the same month last year. The company also announced that during the three months to September, throughput at its terminals registered a 28.9 per cent year-on-year increase to 8.88 million TEU compared to 6.89 TEU in the third quarter of 2005. In the first nine months of 2006, the company's total volume amounted to 23.88 million TEU, 25.6 per cent more than during the same period in 2005. Cosco Pacific operates 13 terminals on the mainland, one in Hong Kong, Singapore and Belgium. According to the statistics, all of the company's facilities saw increases in their container throughput in September except for the terminals in Hong Kong and Singapore.
