In January-August 2007, stevedoring company Ventspils Tirdzniecibas osta (VTO, port of Ventspils, Latvia) handled 3.09 million tonnes of cargo, which is similar to the result of the previous year, the company reports according to RZD-Partner. Valery Pashuta, Chirman of VTO Board says the company is ready to attract new partners and to hold negotiations related to investments into new warehouses, terminals and production projects.
In 2006, consolidated turnover of VTO totaled $32.76 million, the company’s loss grew 1.9 times to $28. The company’s throughput fell by 700 thou tonnes to 4.4 million tonnes.
