MISC upgrades Halal Express Service with call to Nhava Sheva
Malaysian International Shipping Corp. (MISC) is aiming to improve its newly launched Halal Express Service, which has already completed its first shipment cycle, by adding a port call to Nhava Sheva, India. The revised port rotation for the Halal Express Service is now: Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Jebel Ali, Karachi, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Singapore. The company said that it will use the Nhava Sheva call to provide fast transit times from India's main gateway to ports in the Far East and Australasia via transshipment hubs in Malaysia's Port Klang and Singapore. In a related development, MISC plans to join the Gulf India Straits Service (GIS) jointly operated by Simatech and OOCL, starting from November 6. MISC will deploy a 950-TEU chartered vessel on the service in a bid to provide its customers with what it described as "very fast transit time" to the port of Nhava Sheva. The current port rotation for the GIS service is: Singapore, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Port Qasem, Jebel Ali, Bandar Abbas, Jebel Ali, Mundra, Cochin, and back to Singapore. MISC added that the two services will compliment one another.
