Transshipment of Ventamonjaks terminal up 0.9% in Jan.-Sept. 2006
Ventamonjaks terminal of chemical and oil products operating at the territory of Ventspils port transshipped 1.315 million tons of cargo in January-September 2006 (+0.9% against year-on-year result), Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner. Ammonia transshipment grew over the reported period by 18% to 671.4 thou tons (51% of cargo transshipped). Oil products transshipment decreased by 12.4% to 562.1 thou tons (42.8%), acrulonitriles – by 11.5% to 81.5 thou tons (6.2%).
Ventamonjaks is the biggest terminal on the Baltic sea engaged in storage, refining, transshipment and export of ammonia, liquid chemical and petrochemical cargoes and oil products. In 2005 cargo turnover of Ventamonjaks totaled 1.808 million tons, similar to the result of 2004.
