Loading of West-Siberian Railway up 3.3% in Jan.-Sept. 2006
Total loading at West-Siberian Railway amounted in January-September 2006 to 190 million 49 thou tons (+3.3% against year-on-year result), WSR’s PR service reports. Export amounted to 69 million 815.6 thou tons (+15% against year-on-year result). In September the railway loaded 21 million 434.5 thou tons (+3.2%). September export is 7 million 563 thou tons (+9.6%). Coal loading grew by 3.5% to 132 million 464.2 thou tons (September result is +1.6% against 2005 or 14 million 842.8 thou tons). Cement loaded through nine months amounted to 2 million 515.6 thou tons, which is 132% of the previous year result (September result is 336.9 thou tons, + 18.5%). Timber loaded through nine months grew by 16.1%, or 1 million 494.7 thou tons (September result is 177.4 thou tons, +27.4% against year-on-year result). Cargo turnover of oil, metal scrap and ferrous metals grew over nine months by 4.7%, 13.1% and 21.4% correspondingly (to 8 million 466.9 thou tons, 2 million 2.9 thou tons and 8 million 13.7 thou tons). September loading of oil cargo amounted to 938.6 thou tons (+19.5%), metal scrap – 294.7 thou tons (+16.6%), ferrous metals– 855.4 thou tons (+20.2%).
