Russia and Kazakhstan discuss new motor transport corridor
Russia and Kazakhstan discuss the possibility to build new motor transport corridor between southern part of Kazakhstan and Saint Petersburg, PRIME-TASS reports. RF Minister of Transport Igor Levitin says the issue of transport infrastructure development was discussed at the meeting of Russian and Kazakh ministers at the Ministry of Economic Development of RF. According to Levitin, Kazakhstan thinks the corridor should go via Chelyabinsk while Russia’s opinion it should cross Kazan and Orenburg. The parties have commercial to a conclusion that the project expertise is needed. Levitin says the corridor is to include both existing roads with extended dimensions and new highways. The minister does not reveal the value of the project since it should be first calculated by experts.
