    China Shipping plans $457 mln new oil carriers

    China Shipping Development Co. Ltd. said it would invest US$457 million in building four Very Large Crude Oil Carriers.The company said it had signed agreement with China State Shipbuilding Corp. and its subsidiary with the first vessel to be delivered on Oct. 31, 2009, and fourth one on Jun 30, 2010.China Shipping said 80 percent of the deal would be funded by bank borrowing and 20 percent by internal resources.
    Shares of the company have risen 41.4 percent so far this year to end at HK$8.06 on Friday. (US$1=HK$7.8)
