Shandong seaports box volume exceeds 10 million TEU

By the end of 2007, throughput of all Shandong seaports had reached 11.3 million TEU or 560 million tons, Xinhua reported.
Qingdao, the largest of these ports, handled 260 million tons while the. Port of Trisha lifted 130 million tons and Yantai handled more than 100 million tons.
Shandong province has 24 seaports with 146 berths of 10,000 tons or over and a capacity of 328 million tons. The province invested CNY20 billion (US$2.8 billion) in its seaports from 2005 to 2007.
