The company's profit after tax during the quarter under review stood at Rs 482 crore against Rs 344 crore a year ago. L&T's revenues for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 6,461 crore against Rs 4,199 crore a year ago, the company said in a statement.
Order inflow in the quarter was Rs 13,019 crore, a jump of 37 per cent over last year same period.
International operations contributed 18 per cent of the total revenue in Q3.
The company said its growth in sales and order inflow during the quarter were because of sizable capital investment programmes and bagging new orders.
The engineering and construction division of the company grew by 40 per cent this quarter because of order inflow. For this quarter order inflow was Rs 11,462 crore.
Revenues for this quarter from the segment was at Rs 4,962 crore an increase of 57 per cent over last year.
The electrical and electronics division earned a revenue of Rs 616 crore for the quarter, up by 28 per cent a year ago.
Electrical products, systems, equipment, control and automation business reaped the benefits stemming from new production facilities, improved product lines and higher price differentials despite rising costs, L&T said in a statement.
Growing demand from industrial, infrastructure and construction sectors continues to benefit the business of this segment registering a revenue of Rs 590 crore, up 45 per cent from last year.
