A commercial sea route from Fuzhou in the province of Fujian to Japan's Kyushu started operation at the Fuzhou International Container Terminal on January 27.
The route is operated by Sitc Container Lines Company with four container vessels engaged to offer Fujian a faster and direct cargo transportation service to Japan, from Fuzhou International Container Terminal to Japan's Hakata port terminal takes only two days.
Five deep water berths will start operation at the Port by the end of 2008 to cope with the rapidly increasing container traffic when annual volume is expected to reach three million TEU.
