Danish shipping and oil group A.P. Moller-Maersk has sold its 18 car carriers to Hoegh Autoliners and will at the same time become a shareholder with a 37.5 pct stake, Maerks said in a statement.
The transaction, which is subject to relevant approvals from regulatory authorities, will generate an accounting gain of around 200 mln usd after tax in 2008 and is not expected to have any additional significant effect on the result for A.P. Moller-Mжrsk for 2008, it said.
