Managing director Martin Meyer commented: “As the EU offers the freedom of movement for people, goods, services and capital between members of state, we feel it is necessary to strengthen our traffic lines, presence and communication in a number of countries.”
The company has created new networks, opened new offices and created closer partnerships in an effort to reproduce its well established German and UK networks throughout the rest of Europe.
Hellmann East Europe is a newly founded network that will cater for the Baltic States, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Based in Maintel-Bischofsheim near Frankfurt/Main, this operation recently established new traffic lines between partner organisations in Lithuania, Latvia, Russia and Belarus, and opened its own offices in Estonia and Ukraine.
Elsewhere in Europe, a dedicated Spanish team has been created to focus on road haulage distribution in Barcelona, Madrid and Irun.
Hellmann Germany ended its joint venture with Quehenberger at the beginning of the year, and opened its own independent offices in Austria, Romania and Hungary.
Services in Ireland will be expanded to provide additional road haulage services throughout Europe. Hellmann will work with partner ACE Express Freight, a freighting company already closely connected to Hellmann in sea- and airfreight.
