In 2007, commercial seaport of Izmail, one of Ukraine’s largest ports at Danube increased its throughput by 0.6%, year-on-year, to 6.9 million tonnes, the port’s administration informs. In particular, handling of transit cargo grew by 15.9%, year-on-year to 2.1 million tonnes, RBC Ukraine reports according to RZD-Partner. In the reported period transshipment of coal grew by 14.1% to 2.1 million tonnes, ore – by 1.5% to 3.1 million tonnes. In 2006, the port's throughput grew by 2.7% to 6.83 million tonnes.
