The forth patrol ship of the Project 20380 series – the Stoiky corvette – has been laid down today at Severnaya Verf shipyard (Saint Petersburg). According to PortNews reporter, the ship was designed by Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau (Saint Petersburg) for RF Navy. The Project 20380 corvette can be deployed to destroy enemy surface ships, submarines and aircraft, and to provide artillery support for beach landings. The ship’s length is 105 meters, optimal speed - 72 knots, displacement – about 2 thou tons.
The head ship of the series – the Steregushchy corvette – has started the first sea trial today. The second and third ship corvettes of the series - the Soobrazitelny and the Boiky ships are currently under construction at Severnaya Verf.

Major orders are construction of naval destroyers of 956ЭМ project for Chinese Navy and corvettes of 20380 project for Russian Navy.
