Maersk and Emirates enhance container service to India's west coast

SERVICES to India's west coast ports have been upgraded with the new Maersk-Emirates Shipping Line container loops to Middle East and Arabian Gulf that also enhances connections to India and China.
Maersk will deploy 6,250 TEU ships from June 1 to replace 5,500 TEU vessels in its weekly Europe/Middle East (ME3) service that will call at Jawaharlal Nehru at Nhava Sheva.
"Tangiers will be the additional port of call on the ME3 service to facilitate connections to ports in the Mediterranean and Africa," a Maersk spokesman told Lloyd's List. "The induction of larger vessels is to be completed within four weeks."
Emirates Shipping Lines' Hyper Galex II service has started calling at Port Pipavav, north China, India and the Middle East with six 2,500-3,100 TEU ships.
The service also covers Singapore and Malaysia with five vessels of 2,700-teu each, on a 35-day round trip with fixed day weekly sailing
