APM starts building Ukraine terminal
The terminal operating arm of A P Moller-Maersk, APM Terminals, started the building of a new container terminal at the Black Sea Ukrainian Port of Illichivsk, according to a Dow Jones International News report.
Located 12 miles from Odessa on the western shore, Illichivsk is a major maritime centre for the Ukraine, the largest and fastest-growing container market on the Black Sea.
APM Terminals expects to have the final plans firmed up later this year with a tentative completion date of 2011.
