Trade flows via Vanino Port up 1.4% in Jan-Jul., to 3,56m tons

Seven-month freight traffic volume passing through Vanino Commercial Sea Port (Port Vanino JSC, Khabarovsk Territory) totaled 3,558.300 tons, a 1.4-percent gain as compared with the same period a year earlier, the VP’s press service said. In July the stevedore handled 509.100 tons, or 10.4% less than in July, 2009.

The volume of export shipments in January-July amounted to 1,731.100 tons (-5.9%), including 790,500 tons of timber, 97,600 tons of nonferrous metals and 828.300 tons of coal.

Seven-month imports volume made up 736.600 tons (-1.5%), of which alumina - 718.800 tons.

The company transshipped 298,500 tons of short sea trade cargoes showing a 50.7-percent surge. The volume includes 84,3 million tons of coal (+61.2%).

The Vanino-Kholmsk ferry transported 792,100 tons of cargo (+9.3% y-o-y).

From January to July the stevedoring company handled 767 ships, including 360 ferries and 42,600 railcars.

Container volume amounted to 7,300 TEUs in Jan-Jul.

Vanino Commercial Sea Port is the largest stevedore operating at the Port of Vanino of the Khabarovsk Krai (Territory). The Port’s terminals handle inbound cargoes to the north-eastern regions of Russia and exports to Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of Asia Pacific Region.  In 2009 the stevedoring company transshipped 6 million tons of cargo, a 9.4-percent drop year-over-year.
