The bill for support of domestic shipbuilding means the creation of nine zones, Roman Trotsenko

The draft federal law on measures to support the shipbuilding and shipping industry in Russia provides for the establishment of nine specialized shipbuilding areas, which will have special tax and customs regimes, Interfax reports referring to the head of United Shipbuilding Company (USC) Roman Trotsenko. The zones, in particular, will be located in Vladivostok, Severodvinsk and Murmansk and St. Petersburg.

"It is also Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea, Novorossiysk on the Black Sea, Astrakhan on the Caspian Sea. There should be also a shipbuilding zone based in the center of the country, at Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard. This is Nizhny Novgorod, they specialize in construction of river ships. Also, Rybinsk," Mr. Trotsenko was quoted as saying in an interview with journalists in Novosibirsk.
 
In early August 2010 the Ministry of Transport posted a draft federal law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation in connection with the implementation of measures to support the Russian shipbuilding and shipping."
