Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin questions Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) before the end of the year. He said this during a meeting on the development of the regional production of automobiles and auto parts in Russia, the press service of the government said.
"As for accession to WTO and the need therefore to agree on all of our new terms as quickly as possible before the end of this year or before January 1st. We also want to join the World Trade Organization, we are determined and will continue this process. So, of course, we had better not putting off the new conditions for localization (of car making), you should not delay with the signing of appropriate agreements. But to be honest with you, I do not think that this milestone will be reached exactly on January 1 next year. So far, it’s unlikely. However, of course, we’ll be striving for it", the press service quoted Mr. Putin as saying.
