Panalpina said the appointments completed an organizational restructuring announced in March.

Hercksen will have overall global responsibility for ocean freight full container load and less than container load product management, trade lane management, procurement and operations.

Henrik Lund, who will assume his role as global head of air freight in early 2011, has 28 years of experience working for major air freight companies, most recently DHL Global Forwarding, where he was vice president, global consumer sector, based in Germany and Hong Kong.

Mike Wilson, will become global head of logistics by January, has more than 20 years global supply chain and technology experience with leading companies, most recently at Timex Group where he was senior vice president for supply chain and manufacturing operations based in the U.S. and Hong Kong.

The Swiss-based global forwarder and logistics group also promoted Sven Hommken, currently head of supply chain management, as global head of marketing and sales.

All appointees will report to Karl Weyeneth, Panalpina Chief Operating Officer.
