Sembawang Shipyard has inked S$75m in floating production and upgrading contracts. The shipyard, a unit of Sembcorp Marine, is to convert the 97,172 dwt tanker BW Genie into a floating production unit for BW Offshore. The vessel is expected to be redelivered in the fourth quarter of next year for deployment offshore Indonesia. Sembawang is also carrying out life extension and upgrading works for the floating production storage and offloading unit Glas Dowr for Bluerwater Energy Services. The shipyard’s scope of work includes repairs and life extension for the vessel to operate for another 10 years and it will be redelivered in the second quarter of next year. Sembawang said the two contracts had a combined value of S$75m.
