The volume of exports flow via the port rose by 0.8% to 3,4 million tons, through the anchorage - by 32.1% to 5,27 million tons. In particular, the export of sulfur soared by 63.9% to 3 million tons, transshipment of fuel oil – by 8%, to 1,39 million tons, the volume of fertilizers jumped by 43.59% to 378,600 tons, while grain exports declined by 23% to 360,000 tons.
Inbound cargo volume grew by 29%, reaching 969,400 tons. In 2010, there were 2,850 ship calls at the port, versus 2500 ships handled a year earlier.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and the Russian Black Sea coast. The 4.5-m-deep harborage allows handling river boats and seagoing ships (at anchorage). The port’s loading berths facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizers, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized goods. In 2009, Kavkaz port’s cargo throughput reached 8,1 million tons.
