MNP Group launches 9 vessels with total deadweight of over 70,000 tons
MNP Group’s Kransoye Sormovo Shipyard (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia) launched in the calendar year 2010 nine tankers of total deadweight exceeding 70,000 tons, the Group’s press office said.
In particular, in December 2010, the shipyard launched 2 tankers. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in the navigation of 2011. This is the second tanker built for SVL company of 7,100 dwt, and a 5,600dwt tanker for ‘VF Tanker’.
The total deadweight of vessels built and delivered to customers by MNP Group in 2010 amounted to 58,000 tons. Seven ships were built by Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard. Three 5,600dwt tankers, Entseladus, Yapetus and Tethys (project 19,614), were delivered to Cyprus-based Moorpark Ltd, two 13,400dwt tankers, Aktobe, Oral, (project 19619) were built for Kazmortransflot, two 7,100dwt tankers (project 19900), the Ceyhun - for the State Service of Sea and River Transport of Turkmenistan and the SVL Pride - for SVL (SVL Active Trading Ltd).
Krasnoye Sormovo has orders for 8 newbuildings in 2011, the second tanker for Moorpark Ltd. of 5,600dwt and 7 tankers of 5,600dwt for VF Tanker. The contract for construction of 7 crude carriers from Volga-Fleet Tanker was signed in July 2010. The tankers are scheduled for delivery in 2011. So, the shipbuilder has secured a portfolio of newbuildings orders for this year.
"In 2010 we completed an order from Kazmortransflot for three tankers of deadweight of over 13,000 tons, the first vessel was handed over in 2009, the two others - in 2010, but all three in a record time, as well as the 7,000-dwt tanker for the company SVL. Time-frame is a strong advantage of Krasnoye Sormovo, along with a high level of orders execution. Last year we signed the first major contract with Russian company VF Tanker. In 2011 we’ll build for them seven tankers, on the New Year's Eve we already launched the first tanker Mechanic Antonov,” Vadim Malov , General Director of MNP Group, summed up the year’s operational results.
